Keady man admits multiple attempted child sexual communication charges

Admitted a further two counts of attempting to distribute or show an indecent photograph or pseudo photograph of a child
A County Armagh man has admitted multiple charges of attempted child sexual communication over a three month period, two years ago.
Oisin Martin (26) from Fairgreen Park, Keady admitted 12 counts of intentionally attempting to communicate sexually with numerous children encouraging them to respond sexually for his own gratification.
He admitted a further two counts of attempting to distribute or show an indecent photograph or pseudo photograph of a child to intentionally encourage an offence to be committed.
Offending occurred over various dates between July 27 and October 28 2024.
No further details surrounding the circumstances of the case were disclosed during the brief hearing at Dungannon Crown Court, however case papers indicate communication was aimed at both male and female children
Standing in the dock, Martin spoke only to confirm his identity and plead guilty to each charge in turn.
A prosecuting lawyer informed the court five other charges are no longer proceeding on foot of the accepted matters.
Judge Mark McGarrity ordered pre-sentence reports to be prepared and directed Martin to sign the Sex Offender Register before leaving court,
A defence barrister advised a psychological assessment around risk of sexual harm will be sought which will necessitate applying for Martin’s GP notes and records and that in turn may cause some delay.
Martin was remanded on continuing bail of £250 and banned from using Snapchat or having unsupervised contact with anyone aged under 16.
Sentencing will take place on January 15.
