Mall Presbyterian Church congregation members are thrilled that a cutlery set sent as a royal gift by the Queen Mother will headline their upcoming fundraising auction.

Written to Her Majesty by Mrs Linda Anderson, the correspondence resulted in Clarence House sending a presentation box containing six tea knives and a personal card.

Set for Saturday, April 24 at Armstrong Primary School, the auction features the royal gift as its main attraction to help bridge the funding gap for the major halls building project. Fundraising Convenor Mr William Anderson noted that direct donations have already reached £350,000, leaving £250,000 still to be raised through events and contributions.
