The market will operate every Friday and Saturday from 7am to 3pm, providing local shoppers with access to fresh produce and supporting small traders.

Portadown Weekly Market is set to become a permanent fixture in the town centre, with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council confirming that the market will relocate to Magowan West Car Park from Friday 6 November 2026.

Operating every Friday and Saturday from 7am to 3pm, the market will continue to provide local shoppers with access to fresh produce while supporting small traders and contributing to town centre activity.

The new location at Magowan West Car Park will initially be home to a range of regular traders, including two fruit and vegetable retailers however, the Council hopes to see the market continue to grow and is encouraging new traders to get involved. The move establishes Portadown alongside the Shambles Market in Armagh City, Banbridge Flower Market and Lurgan Market, all of which host regular weekly markets, helping to strengthen the borough’s offering and support local enterprise.

Deputy Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Alderman Lavelle McIlwrath said: “I am delighted to confirm the permanent relocation of Portadown Weekly Market to Magowan West Car Park and look forward to welcoming shoppers and traders to its new home from Friday 6 November.”

He added: “Weekly markets play an important role in supporting local businesses, increasing footfall in our town centres and providing residents with access to quality local produce. With established weekly markets already operating in Armagh, Banbridge and Lurgan, this move adds Portadown to the wider borough offering and creates new opportunities for growth.”
