Martin Kelly named new Armagh U17 football manager

Martin Kelly, a retired school principal with 20 years of experience, has been confirmed as the new Armagh U17 football manager, bringing a highly regarded background in underage football to the role.
Retired school principal Martin Kelly has been confirmed as the new Armagh U17 (Minor) football manager, ratified at last month’s meeting of the Armagh GAA County Committee to succeed Barra Murray of the St Michael’s Club in Newtownhamilton.
Bringing a highly regarded background in underage football, Martin has dedicated more than 15 years to coaching Armagh’s underage academy development squads, winning two U15 Academy National Championships. He previously served in the Armagh Minor management setup under Ciaran McKeever in 2019 and 2020 before becoming a selector for the U20 management team alongside Oisin McConville. Outside of direct team management, he is a qualified Ulster GAA Coach Developer, a Child Protection/Safeguarding Tutor, and has served as Armagh’s County Player Welfare Officer.
His newly appointed 2027 backroom management team includes Kevin Murray, Mark Magill, Eoghan Bradley, current Armagh senior goalkeeper panellist Shea Magill, and Scott Winters. Martin is a retired school principal who spent 20 years leading Foley Primary School in Ballymacnab before retiring in 2019.
