Glenavon match postponed
Glenavon’s BOYLE Sports Championship fixture against Warrenpoint Town on Saturday was postponed three hours before kick-off following heavy overnight rainfall during Storm Boelo.
It is likely to be December or January before the match is re-scheduled.
With Annagh United and Newington both winning, Michael O’Connor’s side is now in third place in the table, four points adrift of top spot.
None-the-less, the Glenavon boss will be delighted with his team’s progress, particularly since mid-September. Its record of four wins and a draw in five outings is currently the best in the division.
The Lurgan Blues travel to Queen’s University on Saturday, entertain Institute at Mourneview Park a week later and then, on Friday 13th November, make the short journey to apple country to face Loughgall.
Next month Glenavon can also look forward to a Euro Electrix Mid-Ulster Cup semi-final tie against Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park and a BetMcLean Cup second round contest with Carrick Rangers at Taylor’s Avenue.
